Our Story

We are a family owned and operated company. Paul and Bonnie Paridaen purchased a cabin in the North Subdivision in 2004. That first Christmas was celebrated in Nordegg with their children, Matthew, Katherine and Celina Whiteknife and her husband and children; Dale, Cleveland and Lyric. Everyone fell in love with what Nordegg had to offer. All holidays and everything possible in between were spent in this incomparable landscape.

The opportunity to open the Beehive Artisans Market came after Bonnie passed away in 2020. Previously Paul and Bonnie had dreamed about opening an antique mall. The Beehive became a way to showcase the talent that exists in central Alberta as well as Paul and Bonnie’s antique bottles and many other curios. With locals in mind, the addition of produce and other “artisan” foods were included. May 21, 2021 was opening day and it was filled with anticipation. The Beehive Artisans Market has surpassed all of our expectations and we are looking forward to what our future may bring.
